Financial statements

The statements are built from the chart’s own structure, so a new account appears where you put it without anyone maintaining a report layout.

• Balance sheet as at any date, with a comparison date alongside.
• Income statement for any period, compared against another period or last year.
• Trial balance with opening and closing balances per account.
• Report on a single department or project.
• Show or hide accounts with a zero balance.
• Accrual or cash basis.
• Statements print from a template you control, and export to PDF or CSV.
• Every line drills through to the transactions behind it.
• Heading accounts group the detail underneath them, with account numbers shown or hidden as you prefer.

Running a statement

1. Open the report under Reports. For the balance sheet choose the as at date; for the income statement a from and to date, or pick a month, quarter or year from the period selectors.
2. Choose accrual or cash basis, and whether to include heading rows, subtotals and account numbers.
3. Previous Year adds a comparison column; Months or Quarters splits the period into columns.
4. Restrict to a department or project, pick a currency and decimal places, and press Continue. Tick Template to print through the statement template instead of to the screen.
